Migrant children often face challenges in maintaining their cultural identity in a multicultural environment. This community service activity aims to provide arts and culture education mentoring as an effort to strengthen national identity and foster patriotism among migrant children in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The mentoring program is implemented through participatory activities such as introducing traditional dances, regional songs, traditional games, and discussions on Indonesian cultural values. The implementation method uses a participatory approach by involving children and parents in each activity session. The results of the activity show an increase in participants' understanding of Indonesian culture, a growing sense of pride in national identity, and increased confidence in children in expressing their native culture. This activity also provides a space for positive social interaction to reduce feelings of alienation and strengthen ties with the homeland. Therefore, arts and culture education mentoring is effective as a medium for strengthening identity and instilling national values in migrant children living abroad.
Mohammad Holis, Wawan Rusdianto Copyright (c) 2026 ABJIS: Al-Bahjah Journal of Islamic Community Service https://jurnal.staialbahjah.ac.id/index.php/abjis/article/view/948 Thu, 26 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Pendampingan Guru dalam Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Fikih Materi Thaharah di SMP Abdi Negara Brondong Lamongan https://jurnal.staialbahjah.ac.id/index.php/abjis/article/view/1011
Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) learning at the Junior High School (SMP) level plays a strategic role in shaping students' understanding and practice of Islamic teachings, particularly on the topic of purification as a foundation of worship. However, the teaching materials used are often conventional and lack contextualization, thus not fully attracting students' interest in learning. This community service activity aims to describe the implementation of creative mentoring in designing Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) teaching materials for purification at SMP Abdi Negara Sedayulawas. The implementation method uses a participatory approach through classroom observation, discussion, practice of preparing teaching materials, and reflection with teachers during the mentoring activities. Mentoring is carried out using a theory-to-practice approach to bridge theoretical understanding and application of learning in the classroom. The results of the activity show an increase in teacher competence in developing more varied, contextual, and interactive teaching materials through the use of visualizations, simple learning media, and case studies based on everyday life. In addition, learning becomes more interesting and encourages active student involvement in understanding the concept of purification. Thus, this creative mentoring contributes to improving the quality of Fiqh learning planning and strengthening students' understanding of the importance of cleanliness and purity in everyday life.
Zunaidah, Maftuhah Maftuhah, Aditya Putra Pratama, Muhammad Azlan Syah, Muhammad Naufal Nabhan, Misbahuddin Misbahuddin, Muhlis Muhlis Copyright (c) 2026 ABJIS: Al-Bahjah Journal of Islamic Community Service https://jurnal.staialbahjah.ac.id/index.php/abjis/article/view/1011 Thu, 26 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Pendampingan Bahan Ajar Mata Pelajaran Akidah Akhlak Materi Adab Sholat Dan Dzikir Kelas VII MTs Muhammadiyah 17 Kranji https://jurnal.staialbahjah.ac.id/index.php/abjis/article/view/891
This Community Service Activity aims to improve teacher competency in compiling and implementing teaching materials for the subjects of Aqidah Akhlak, Prayer Etiquette and Dhikr in class VII MTs Muhammadiyah 17 Kranji. The method used is a participatory and collaborative approach through the stages of needs analysis, planning, mentoring the preparation of learning modules and media, as well as evaluation and reflection with partners. Activity data was obtained through observation, documentation, and reflection, then analyzed descriptively with data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and validated through source triangulation. The results of the study show that the mentoring of teaching materials has a positive impact on student engagement and understanding, teachers are able to manage classes interactively, and student learning outcomes generally show achievements that exceed the standard of completion. The developed teaching materials strengthen the cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions of students and support the role of teachers as facilitators who instill moral values through humanistic learning.
Maftuhah Maftuhah, Fijri Farahdina, Najwa Eka Hidayati, Rofidatur Rohmah, Zahrotul Hasanah Firdaus Copyright (c) 2026 ABJIS: Al-Bahjah Journal of Islamic Community Service https://jurnal.staialbahjah.ac.id/index.php/abjis/article/view/891 Thu, 26 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0000 PENDAMPINGAN EVALUASI PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN DALAM PENINGKATAN MUTU PROGRAM PEMBELAJARAN TERINTEGRASI https://jurnal.staialbahjah.ac.id/index.php/abjis/article/view/1015
Community service aims to assist the implementation of educational evaluation in pesantren as an effort to improve the quality of integrated learning programs. Pesantren as educational institutions that organize academic, religious, and character building learning require a reflective and sustainable evaluation system. Service activities are carried out with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach that places pesantren managers and educators as active participants in all stages of assistance. The service process is carried out in stages through identification of program conditions, implementation of educational evaluation, joint reflection, and formulation of recommendations for improvement. The results of the assistance show that the foreign language program, tahfidz Al-Qur'an, academics, and character building through halaqoh tarbawiyah already have positive and sustainable learning practices. Evaluative assistance helps strengthen these practices through collaborative alignment of program objectives, processes and evaluation. Educational evaluation is understood not as an instrument of control, but as a means of institutional learning and strengthening a culture of quality. This service contributes to the development of humanist, participatory, and contextualized educational evaluation practices in supporting the sustainable improvement of pesantren education quality.
Iman Subasman; Toto Sukarnoto; Bambang Firmansyah Copyright (c) 2026 ABJIS: Al-Bahjah Journal of Islamic Community Service https://jurnal.staialbahjah.ac.id/index.php/abjis/article/view/1015 Thu, 26 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0000
