Scientific article writing is an essential academic competency that university students must develop to support the dissemination of research findings through scholarly publications. However, many students still encounter difficulties in understanding scientific article structures, particularly the IMRAD and Non-IMRAD models, using reference management applications, and selecting appropriate target journals. This Community Service Program aimed to improve students' scientific writing competencies through a Participatory Learning and Training (PLT) approach integrated with a One Group Pretest –Posttest design. The program involved 47 students from Institut Al-Bahjah Cirebon and was conducted through five stages: Pretest , instructional sessions, scientific article writing practice, Posttest , and evaluation and reflection. Data were collected using tests, observations, and documentation and analyzed descriptively through a mixed-methods approach. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' competencies, as indicated by the increase in the mean score from 75.39 in the Pretest to 94.13 in the Posttest , with an N-Gain score of 0.804 (80.39%), categorized as high. Furthermore, participants showed enhanced abilities in distinguishing IMRAD and Non-IMRAD article structures, utilizing Mendeley and Zotero for reference management, developing scientific article outlines, and selecting appropriate publication journals. These findings indicate that the PLT approach is effective in enhancing students' scientific writing competencies while strengthening the culture of academic publication.
