This community service activity, conducted by students of STAI Brebes through the Community Service Program (KKN) at RA Al Ihsan Randegan, aimed to provide assistance in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) through the storytelling method to attract students’ attention and encourage their active engagement in learning. Early childhood learners require instructional approaches that are appropriate to their developmental characteristics, namely communicative, enjoyable, concrete, and participatory learning. The activity consisted of several stages, including preparation, delivery of Islamic Religious Education materials through Islamic stories, interaction and question-and-answer sessions, reinforcement of learning materials, and observation of students’ responses throughout the activity. The materials presented consisted of Islamic stories containing religious and moral values, such as honesty, respect for parents and teachers, caring for friends, sharing, and practicing commendable behavior. The results of observations indicated that the students responded positively to the implementation of storytelling. This was demonstrated by their attention during the storytelling sessions, active participation in answering questions, imitation of the facilitators’ movements and expressions, and ability to identify the values conveyed through the stories. The use of visual materials, voice intonation, and direct interaction also contributed to creating a communicative and enjoyable learning environment. Therefore, storytelling can be utilized as an alternative method for assisting Islamic Religious Education at the RA level to support students’ engagement and facilitate the introduction of religious and moral values through learning experiences that are appropriate to the characteristics of early childhood learners.
